Let's start from the beginning......

The kit is made of dark green plastic and was made to be built by screws.
This is the static version of the kit Aurora sold as flying, powered by 2 gas engines with large propellers.
To store the model, I had to cut the upper half of the wings, which was a single piece, and to build a balsa/plastic structure inside the fuselage that could hold the wings into position. Now either or both wings can be removed if needed.

Here you see a few pics of the interior details I added to the model. Most of these details will not be seen from the outside once the model is finished but at least I know they are there...
Much lead weight is placed around the nose gear well. The model tends to be a tail-sitter.

The internal structure of the fuselage has been made by card, the radio boxes are made of resin, all guns are resin copies of a Browning from a 1/35th scale Sherman tank. Hand grips have been added, as a photoetched gun sight.
Barrels have been cut off once slipped thru the windows. Ammo belts are made of rubber bent in hot water and are from the miniguns of a Monogram 1/24th scale Huey chopter.

Spacers have been glued into position to avoid smashing the fuselage once closed.
